“For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:” (Romans 1:20)
This verse tells us that God communicates with people through His creation. Here are a few ways we discovered as we thought about it. See how many more you can discover, and then “communicate” them with us. With your permission, we just might use your examples in a future issue of Think & Believe.
By looking for the signs God placed in the heavens, the wisemen knew that the Christ, our Savior, had arrived and followed the “star” a great distance to worship him.
In the Winter 2004 issue of Think & Believe, we mentioned the SETI Project which was meant to seek any pattern of sounds coming from space which would indicate a language – communication. If found, such a pattern would immediately indicate to the researchers that there is intelligent life out in space. Yet within the cell are strands of DNA containing a special code of life, the DNA code. This special complex language far exceeds a simple pattern and certainly should show us it was created by an intelligent Being! As we delve into the intricacies of the DNA, it should tell us that our Creator is communicating with us that He is an awesome Creator!
Speaking of the Genetic code, it appears now that it is far more complex than just a linear string of commands. When the code is viewed in a two-dimensional array, interesting patterns emerge. I excitedly look forward to further research on this new way to look at the DNA. It already has all the earmarks of tremendous design. For more examples of God’s communication through His creation, we recommend Lanny Johnson’s book The Hand of God. In it, Lanny gives multiple examples of a specific and awesome design pattern which is repeated all over the living and physical world. As Lanny puts it, “God wants to be found!”
