Do you believe in coincidences? I usually like to call them God-cidences. I was really up to my neck with things to do before the next speaking trip and needed to get the articles written quickly for the next issue of Think & Believe. The article I wanted to write to fit the flow of the issue was on the communications of honeybees. I made myself a note to begin doing research the next AM for some of the latest info on honeybee communication. Not having computer web...

Stephen Hawking announces: Our Universe came from the Big Bang, not from God. Did you hear the momentous announcement earlier this month? Famed cosmologist Stephen Hawking announced that the Universe was not created by God. Instead, the Universe created itself, via the Big Bang. Was this an unlikely event? No. This was actually an ‘inevitable consequence’ of the laws of physics, especially gravity. As he explained: “Because there is a law such as gravity,...

We’re living in a very interesting age for science. It is an age where speculation becomes the headlines for scientific research. Just today, I noticed an article in the New York Times online Space and Cosmos section saying that they have discovered a new planet about 20 light years away from us (a very long way outside of our solar system). The headlines state, “New Planet May Be Able to Nurture Organisms.” The AP headline – “Could ‘Goldilocks’ planet be just right...

Most atheists likely consider themselves to be “honest” atheists. Some atheists, however, openly say that a moral atheist is an oxymoron. They actually suggest that deception is valuable. Their claim is that since some animals use deception, why should the “human animal” be any different? Speaking on the university campuses, I frequently hear the same false arguments. Sometimes, they are traceable to specific professors and sometimes to atheist websites. Some of those...

Students, do you like being misled? Consider a classic “centerpiece” of evolution that has been taught for 50 years. Textbooks show photos of light and dark colored moths camouflaged on light and dark tree trunks. Texts and many teachers then tell a convincing story about the moths being “proof” positive for Darwin’s idea of natural selection and resulting evolution. The story goes like this: Before the industrial revolution in Great Britain, a large number of light-colored...

Natural Selection, or “survival of the fittest,” is the mechanism which is usually proposed to drive evolution. It seems obvious that those organisms, which are more “fit” in a particular environment or under particular conditions, will be those that survive. However, by itself, natural selection has no power to “create” anything. At best, all it can do is “choose” between organisms that already exist. Thus, it has no power to explain the origin of a new trait. Furthermore,...

Humanism is a world religion based in atheistic naturalism. It asserts that the universe is self existing and not created, people being the result of an evolutionary process. Since there is no God, then there are no absolutes. Therefore what is right and wrong is determined by subjective opinions (relative morality). This philosophy not only led to the holocausts of Aborigines in Australia as well as the Jews in Germany under Adolph Hitler, but also to the current holocaust...

Malachi 4:2a “But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings….” People and mammals have a multi-pronged immune system. When a bacterial infection is detected, cells begin to release nitric oxide, which kills bacteria, and they begin a cascade of other defense strategies. Ultimately, antibodies that directly attack any invader are produced. In recent years, scientists have discovered that even in certain...

Nanotyrannus was a bit like a Tyrannosaurus rex, except it had 17 teeth in its lower jaw, while a T. rex had 12 lower jaw teeth and a less elongated skull. However, now it seems that Nanotyrannus should never have been identified as a separate species at all. Leading dinosaur paleontologist Dr Jack Horner of Montana State University says that Nanotyrannus was in fact a juvenile T. rex, whose skull changed dramatically as it matured. The transition to adulthood also...

Did you know that many ancient Chinese words have their roots in Genesis? These ancient words are made up of pictures. For example, the word for tempter is made up of pictures representing a garden, a serpent, and a woman. Amazingly, the word for boat is 8 mouths in a vessel. This reminds us of accounts of Adam and Eve’s fall and the 8 individuals who survived the flood of Noah’s days. Their culture had a creation base, but, sadly it was lost to religious...
