Did planets form really quickly – within about 5 million years??
Is that really true??
This new research talks about how the Earth would have had to form much more quickly than they have previously thought – due to the study of iron compositions of the Earth and meteorites. These scientists make new estimations for how the Earth formed, but it appears that a lot of detail is still missing.
So often this is the case: a scientist says that they have figured out how something happened, but their conclusions are based greatly on a lot of assumptions. What is not often communicated is all the problems with the new conclusions – there is still a lot of challenges to even get masses to build up together to create a large enough mass that will then pull in more mass due to gravity. The problem is that gravity is such a weak force to get the process started.
Consider how when you throw a rock at another rock – what happens? They normally bounce off of each other or even break apart, right? Maybe if you throw a mud clump – it might stick to the other rock, but in cold outer space, it would not be sticky mud, but a hard, frozen chunk.
I think, based on evidence and the laws of physics, we have a good reason to believe that the planets were created/designed by God!
